Online tickets can be used any day and time that the museum is open (you are not restricted to the date printed on the ticket). Please be ready to print your tickets immediately after purchase. Discounts and passes cannot be accepted for online purchases. Tickets are transferable, and can be shared as gifts for friends and family!

Mess Makers for Toddlers

It's hot outside, so come have some messy fun inside at the Children's Museum of Phoenix! Join us this month as we have a painting party! We'll do finger painting, painting with cars and other toys, handprints and so much more! In this series of programs, you and your child will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on, messy play at the Museum. The best part is that we do the clean-up, so you don’t have to! Please note: You may wish to bring a change of clothes for your little one, since we do get involved in hands-on messy play in this program! Children 12 to 24 months-old plus a parent/caregiver are welcome.

King or Queen of the Art Studio Castle

Hear ye, hear ye! Come to the Art Studio to be crowned as king or queen of the castle for a day. Be the first to paint the castle with your name. Make a special crown. Pose in a robe and hold a scepter while your photo is taken for display in the museum.  $15
 
Snow Cones

Make your own snow cone and cool off in the summer heat! The Museum will provide all you need, including a variety of flavors, to create your sweet treat! Admission for each participant is $3 members and $4 for non-members.
 
Phoenix Public Library Present: Kindergarten Bootcamp 07/07/2015
Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their child for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. Bootcamp consists of seven, 1-hour sessions for children who are preparing to enter kindergarten, or who have recently entered kindergarten. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work on foundational skills which have been demonstrated to be the most important for both a successful kindergarten and school experience.
 
My Summer Story
My Summer Story 07/09/2015
Going back to school can be a difficult transition for parents and children. In this workshop, children can create their very own "summer story," to help them say goodbye to their summer break in a positive way. Children will create a book that will not only include pictures, but also fun tales describing adventures from their time away from school. Parents can help children prepare for this workshop by gathering pictures from over the summer. Even if summer didn't consist of a big trip to Disneyland or the beach, fun pictures by the pool or with friends can "tell" a fun story. This program is geared towards ages 5-8 and their caregiver.

Children will enjoy making their own clipboards out of simple materials to take home with them! Your child will love having their clipboard to write or draw on, especially while travelling for those summer vacations!  Join us for this fun make-and-take activity as we celebrate literacy month at the museum! This program emphasizes simple but critical messages about early brain development. Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one-on-one parent/child playtime with brain-based learning toys and books. Join us this month as we explore the visual world of colors! Your little one will enjoy a variety of activities focused on recognizing and matching colors! The program is designed to teach parents about the importance of a child's early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting where play is emphasized. Children birth to 18 months old plus a parent/caregiver are welcome.

One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will teach parents how to create a language-rich environment at home, and how to integrate reading and talking into bedtime, bath time, and outside of the home in locations such as the grocery store or mall. Parents/caregivers will also learn about the importance of routines and predictability in children’s lives. This workshop is deigned for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing. Each child will receive a new book to take home.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's .... Superman? Did you know that Superman's birthday is in the summer? To celebrate, we are taking the week to discover the everyday heroes among us. Join us as we create superhero capes, recognize our real-life heroes, and explore our own heroic talents through risk-taking, role-play, and teamwork. Each day, campers will work towards earning a super-hero badge presented on the last day of camp. Sample Activities: Recognizing real-life heroes,  Birthday Surprise for Superman, Comic Book Creation, and more!
