Online tickets can be used any day and time that the museum is open (you are not restricted to the date printed on the ticket). Please be ready to print your tickets immediately after purchase. Discounts and passes cannot be accepted for online purchases. Tickets are transferable, and can be shared as gifts for friends and family!

Time Travelers
Time Travelers 07/11/2016
June 13th-17th and July 11th-15th. Welcome to the CMoP Time Travelers agency. Campers will grab a ticket and embark upon a trip filled with interesting stops throughout history. Campers will exhibit teamwork, innovation, and resourceful problem-solving as they create self-designed time machines. Campers will visit the dinosaurs, explore ancient Egypt, and make a pit stop in the Wild West; they will also have the opportunity to examine various inventions and devise the innovative ideas that will power the future. Time Travelers Camp also includes ample time for camp participants to play within all three floors of our imaginative exhibits. Other activities include: story time, talent show, and awards ceremony.

Children birth to 8 months old plus a parent/caregiver are welcome. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.

Exploring Environments that Nurture Language and Literacy 07/15/2016

One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will teach parents how to create a language-rich environment at home, and how to integrate reading and talking into bedtime, bath time, and outside of the home in locations such as the grocery store or mall. Parents/caregivers will also learn about the importance of routines and predictability in children’s lives. This workshop is deigned for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing. Each child will receive a new book to take home.

In this series of programs, you and your child will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on, messy play at the Museum. The best part is that we do the clean-up, so you don’t have to! Children ages 12 to 24 months plus a parent/caregiver are welcome. Please note: You may wish to bring a change of clothes for your little one, since we do get involved in hands-on messy play in this program! Admission into the program is $8 per child for members and $10 per child for non-members. Space is limited.

June 20th-24th and July 18th-22nd. Calling all authors! Join us as we journey into a world of imagination, creativity, magic, and possibilities. Campers will explore the museum through fairy tales, have the opportunity to create their own stories and dioramas and also utilize critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills, as well as, problem solving and teamwork to help their fairytale friends solve a number of dilemmas. Create a parachute to help Jack escape the giant, construct a raft for the Billy Goats, and more! Little Authors also includes ample time for camp participants to play within all three floors of our imaginative exhibits. Other activities include: story time, talent show, and awards ceremony.

Get Ready to Read! Early Literacy Screenings for 3-5 year olds 07/23/2016

Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Get Ready to Read! is an early literacy program designed to help parents ensure that young children are equipped with the fundamental skills necessary for learning to read. The goal of Get Ready to Read! is to screen children between the ages of 3 years, 6 months - 5 years, 11 months, for pre-reading skills before they enter kindergarten and provide skill-strengthening activities to ensure their reading success. Each screening takes about 10 minutes and the kids walk away with pre-reading exercises as well as a free book. The Get Ready to Read! program is a part of the Arizona Literacy and Learning Center, their Web site is: www.azlit.org.

Baby Yoga

Through gentle yoga stretches, touch, music, and singing, caretakers and babies are encouraged to bond with one another to support the emotional well being of baby, as well as, stimulate the nervous system through sensory activities that support touch, and movement. Both baby and parent will participate in repetitive soothing motions of relaxation techniques, constructive play, and experience some yoga poses and practice breathing to embrace and celebrate the developmental milestones in the first year of the baby’s life. Class is designed for children ages 5 months through 15 months and is taught by Anna Blocher-Rubin. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum admission. Space is limited.

Summertime Sleuths
Summertime Sleuths 07/25/2016
June 27th-July 1st and July 25th-29th. Who did it? Campers will spend a week with the CMoP Detective Unit learning the science of investigation. Campers will study fingerprints, analyze handwriting, learn the science of chromatography, test observation skills, exercise deductive reasoning, examine mysterious powders and more! Our camp teams will practice teamwork and cooperation as they work together to gather evidence and solve mysteries right here at the Museum! Summertime Sleuths also includes ample time for camp participants to play within all three floors of our imaginative exhibits. Other activities include: story time, talent show, and awards ceremony.

Sweet Treats Extravaganza

Make an assortment of treats for your friend in honor of International Friendship Day! Each participant will have the opportunity to make an assortment of 4 treats, choosing from pretzel rods, jumbo marshmallows on a stick, or chocolate sandwich cookies. These items may then be dipped in chocolate or vanilla candy coating, and then decorated with an assortment of toppings! Take home containers will be provided as well. Admission for each participant is $6 for members and $8 for non-members.
